I could have driven further across North America, but not by much.
From Bradenton to Fairbanks, Florida to Alaska. This is The Diagonal.
Though I usually don't need a reason for this type of adventure, there is one. A copy-editing job at the Fairbanks Daily News-Miner.
In future posts, I might delve into the days leading up to this trip, but not tonight. I'm beat. I have spent the last week indulging emotional goodbyes, free drinks and heavy foods. Oh, and all the while I've been prepping to move to freakin' Alaska.
All of which is why I'm half-awake on a couch watching "Iron Chef America" with my mom, who is desperately trying not to let her 13-hour day of nursing force her to sleep so she can spend every waking minute with me.
Thus, it should suffice that I say: This blog is here. It will be honest. It will be interesting.
So hop into my Spectra. We've got 5,000 miles to figure out what the hell I'm doing.

Ahh, and he is off. Looking back seems like the appropriate thing to do. So, in true Uberadentoner style, I will look forward. Man... strangely enough all I can see is drunken wii with a little sasquatch and frozen death thrown in...
